PM SHRI Schools
The PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) initiative is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India aimed at enhancing the quality of education and infrastructure in over 14,500 schools across the country. This scheme focuses on creating an environment where every student feels welcomed and cared for, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment, providing a wide range of learning experiences, and offering good physical infrastructure and resources conducive to learning.
Under the PM SHRI Scheme, various activities are conducted in PM SHRI KV IIT Powai to enrich the educational experience and holistic development of students, including:
Self-Defence Training: Empowering students, especially girls, with self-defense skills to enhance their safety and confidence.
Workshops on Hands-on Skills: Engaging students in practical skills such as mural painting, fostering creativity and artistic expression.
Development of Kitchen Gardens: Promoting sustainability and environmental education by involving students in the cultivation of kitchen gardens within school premises.
Improvement in Sports Infrastructure: Upgrading sports facilities to encourage physical fitness and sportsmanship among students.
Field Trips: Organizing educational trips to provide experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom.
Sessions on Psychometric Assessment: Helping students understand their strengths, weaknesses, and interests through psychometric assessments to guide their academic and career choices.
Sessions on Mental Health: Addressing the mental health and well-being of students through dedicated sessions, ensuring they have access to support and resources for emotional resilience.
